Description:
Visit the glorious past and vibrant present of Greece! The College of Staten Island sponsors a study abroad program at the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT). All coursework is taught in English, and no prior study of Greek language is required. Students choose one course from the following subjects: Greek language, anthropology, history, political science, and sociology. In addition, students choose two courses from the following: accounting, economics, English, European studies, finance, history, humanities, management, marketing, and philosophy. Students earn 12-17 undergraduate credits on the program. Students rent a room in a house or live in off-campus apartments with other participants located a short distance from ACT. Extracurricular activities are an important part of the program,including cross-cultural orientation programs, excursions, museum visits, archaeological digs, dance classes, and student clubs.
Highlights:
All courses taught in English. No Greek language prerequisite. Variety of courses offered including international business, history, and Greek language. 2.5 GPA or better required. Excursions may include Athens, Vergina-Dion, Meteora, and Mount Athos.
