IED Design has created an education product that meets the requirements of the industrial system for well trained professional figures, capable of tackling the technological, creative and strategic challenges of the next few years. Geared towards graduates in architecture, IED graduates in Industrial or Interior Design or those who have experience in the world of design, this Master has the aim of creating experts in the use of lighting, both from an expressive and technical point of view, skilled professionals that are able to control and manipulate light and work in the research, design and marketing fields in connection with the business system of companies that produce lighting devices.

Highlights: Projects

This course will have three main projects that will be developed in collaboration with market leading companies and world renowned teachers. The role of the companies will be to present the project brief and guide each phase of development while offering any technical
assistance if needed.

Trips to production sites will be organised.
The 3 projects will be: Light objects, Light in Interior, Light in the City

Skills

1. Historical and critical themes:
Culture of light, history of illumination and the use of light in different application fields, from figurative art to Light Art, from show business to domestic illumination, from Lighting Design to Design of lighting devices.
2. Technical and operating themes:
Knowledge of sources, optical waves, devices, lighting-technical measurement, computer systems for simulation and measurement. Lighttechnique, Optical waves design, Electrical regulations and safety, Lighting Cad, Litestar
3. Computer model making
Rhinoceros e 3D Studio Viz, Photorealistic Rendering, Photoshop, Visual Communication, Flash, Light Sketching
