Dates: August - May (Academic Year), August - December (Fall Semester), January - May (Spring Semester)

Description: A lively city with more than 250,000 inhabitants, Granada is perched between the dazzling white peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the glistening blue Mediterranean of the Costa del Sol. With its wide plains, high mountains and sunny coastline, Andalucia retains some of the most picturesque scenery in Spain. Students see some of the most beautiful and intricate buildings of the medieval world in Andalucia.

AIFS students take courses at the University of Granada in anthropology, art history, economics, geography, history, literature, music, political science and sociology, plus Spanish language. There is also an Honors program with a concentration on Islamic studies. Fall and spring semesters begin with 80-hour language and cultural orientation, followed by a trip to Madrid and Castile. Students in the Spanish language program take elementary or intermediate language and composition courses and seminars in English and Spanish. Intermediate students integrate into the Language and Culture program focusing on language development and specific curriculum. Advanced students take Hispanic Studies focusing on aspects of Spanish culture.

AIFS program fees include the basics and the extras: tuition, housing, meals, London visit, excursions and cultural activities, airfare if selected, visit to Madrid and Castile, and more.
