SUNY New Paltz International Social Welfare program is one of our unique programs that allow you to view the world with a different perspective and learn around the world. Three undergraduate or graduate credits will be awarded in this program to participants. The purpose of this international program is to study the Spanish social welfare system, compare it to that of the United States, and immerse ourselves for 11 days in the Spanish culture by living with Spanish human services students and professionals. We will visit Social Education Programs as well as a wide variety of programs for various populations such as those providing services to children, families, victims of domestic violence, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, etc. There will be plenty of time for sightseeing in one of Spains most beautiful regions on the northern coast.
Highlights:
College credits: 3 credits will be awarded in this program to participants. For further information please contact the Center for International Programs at SUNY New Paltz. Qualifications: (The program is offered to students attending American Accredited Universities and College) Open to both undergraduate and graduate students in good academic standing. Prior human services work or internship experience is required. All participating students must meet with Professor Donna Chaffee, the program director, for a personal or phone interview. You may contact Professor Chaffee for more information. Housing: Lodging with Spanish students/human services professionals (all English speaking) Language of Instruction: The course will be taught in English. Financial Aid: Students may apply for financial aid at their home campus financial aid office. Financial aid deferrals may be applied toward tuition and program fee only.
