Marist College-Spanish Internship Program

Description:
Through an on-site orientation, homestay, field excursions, language study, optional internship, and course work at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Getafe campus), students come to know intimately the culture and society of Spain. Students may earn 15 credits per semester. A full academic year is strongly encouraged. Internships are available with proven Spanish language proficiency.
Highlights:
Students experience three dimensions of Spanish life: the home, the university, and the workplace. Marist College transcript upon completion of program.

Qualifications:
Sophomores, juniors, and seniors matriculated at accredited colleges or universities in the U.S. who have reached the level of advanced Spanish are eligible. Applicants must be in good academic standing and should have a minimum GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. Students desiring internships should have appropriate study and/or experience in the field in which they wish to intern. The application requires an official transcript of all college-level work, an essay, a writing sample in Spanish, and two letters of recommendation, including one from the most recent Spanish-language instructor. Application forms are available from the Marist International Programs office or online.
