Highlights: NYU in Madrid students also enjoy a full range of cultural activities, seminars, and excursions designed to immerse them in Spanish culture. Experts in the history, art, and architecture of each particular destination lead all class excursions, and a full-time staff plans trips in and around Madrid. Students studying in Madrid explore a capital that is intricately linked to the literature, civilization, and culture courses in which they are enrolled. Famous for its nightlife and beauty, Madrid offers all the conveniences of a big city--gyms, cinemas, theatre, dance, concerts, and museums. Visits to Barcelona, Andalusia, Avila, the Basque Country, and Galicia are also possible, as well as day trips to nearby Toledo, Segovia, Salamanca, and the famous El Corral Renaissance theatre in Almagro.
