UQ welcomes international students to a friendly and supportive community that comprises more than 37,900 students, including 7500 international students from around 120 countries. Students study across three superb south-east Queensland campuses with the largest campus, UQ St Lucia, situated in Brisbane, a dynamic capital city known for its excellent climate, safe environment and affordable quality of life. UQ's Study Abroad and student exchange programs provide students already enrolled at accredited universities outside of Australia the exciting opportunity to explore their interests and talents through studying at UQ for one or two semesters. Students can choose from more than 4,000 courses across UQ's seven faculties covering disciplines as diverse as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies, mining and minerals engineering, religious studies and zoology. Many of these courses focus on Australian topics or offer field trips to unique locations in south-east Queensland. Credit for courses successfully completed at UQ in most cases may be transferred to the degree at the student's home institution.
